What is a driver analysis?

A driver analysis is a statistical technique that helps us understand the degree to which a selected outcome is influenced by survey factors/items. This analysis can only be performed for leaders with at least 25 respondents.

Impact scores are calculated for the selected outcome and every other survey item that is not part of the outcome factor. For example, an item that is part of a 5-item Employee Engagement measure will not be evaluated as a driver if Employee Engagement is selected as the outcome.

When action planning, it is generally best to focus on drivers with "High" and "Very High" impact scores, as these will likely have the most influence on the selected outcome.

Technical details on the statistical methodology are available here.
